August 20 & 21 – Youth Art Camps: “A Cubism Connection”

10:00am-12:00pm, 6 - 10 year olds

12:30-2:30pm, 11 – 16 year olds

Instructor: Diane O’Hern, Limit: 12 Students in each section

AM Session: Bring your ideas to represent your summer memories by cubes and other geometric forms.  Draw, assemble with wood and add colors to your relief sculpture.  Glue objects found in nature and man-made wood forms to creatively express your idea. Let’s meet famous artist Pablo Picasso! See his famous painting, “Three Musicians.”

PM Session: Draw your favorite face of a friend, pet or animal and break it down to only geometric forms. Add color using oil pastels. Sculpt your image in clay to create a 3-D sculpture. Hear stories written by Pablo Picasso on his personal artist journey.
