The Basics of Photography: Getting Started

Location: Citizen’s Central, 617 Central Avenue – Use Courtyard Entrance, Room 201
This class is for anyone that already has a digital or DSLR camera, but is stuck where to go from there. Participants will learn about basic camera operation, photographic terminology, the “Rule of Thirds,” and how to begin your photography journey. Participants will be able to understand shutter speed, ISO, and aperture, and how they work together. You’ll utilize light to create mood and emotion, and gain confidence in putting your new knowledge into action. Please come dressed and prepared to go on a photo safari with a fully charged camera, as participants will be exploring downtown Fort Dodge to begin their journey.
