>> Background

The Blanden Art Museum, Art in the Schools Program is a fine arts elementary program for 4th grade students. The program includes a visit to your school with a presentation about an artist or artistic style that relates to work in the museum's Permanent Collection, a hands-on art project at school with all materials provided, and a field trip tour to the art museum with transportation assistance available. Also included, is a gift for each student and each classroom.

Marc Chagall, Andy Warhol, Grant Wood, and Betty Woodman are just a few of the artists we have studied in recent years. The Blanden Art Museum is unique for the size of the community it is a part of, and is honored to house influential works by major artists and art movements.

>> Registering

Once we receive your Registration Form, communication will continue via email. There is an opportunity to list an additional phone number on the form. If the weather does not cooperate, or something else comes up, it is important to have a way to contact you in case of cancellation. We will then pick a future date to reschedule.

Please spread out your 3 presentation date choices over several months, listing at least one of your choices earlier in the winter. Often there are large numbers of requests for March and April, but we run out of options when bad weather causes cancellations and rescheduling.

There will be a limited number of presentations given each week, so the earlier you register, the better your chances of getting dates that will work best for you.

Thank you!!

Making these presentations and visiting the area schools are one of the Blanden Art Museum's favorite Creative Community Connection art education projects, and we look forward to it each year. For any questions, please call us at 515-573-2316. Thank you, and we can't wait to create with you!
