Policies

PUBLIC PARKING

 

Parking spaces are available near the east entrance of the museum; street parking on South 10th Street and South 3rd Avenue; A public parking lot is located at 2nd Avenue South and South 10th Street.

 

HANDICAP PARKING & FACILITIES

 

Two handicapped parking spaces are located on the west side of the museum, accessible by the alley running east-west from South 8th Street to South 9th Street. The west entrance door goes directly to an elevator; press the up button to go to the 1st floor. Handicapped restrooms are also on the 1st floor.

PHOTOGRAPHY POLICY

 

Due to copyright restrictions, loan restrictions, and the sensitivity of works of art on paper, photography is not allowed in the East Gallery, West Gallery or 2nd Floor Gallery. Flash cameras, tripods, and video equipment is not allowed in any area of the museum. Personal cameras may be used in the museum lobby.

 

 

VISITING POLICY

 

Do not touch any works of art. Touching works of art will damage the surface over time. Works of art are culturally valued objects intended to be preserved for future generations. Do not bring food, drinks, baby back carriers, umbrellas, and backpacks into the museum galleries. Food and drinks must be discarded before entering a gallery. Umbrellas and backpacks must be hung on hangers or stored on the shelf above the coatrack in the East Entrance. Baby strollers and chest-carried baby packs are permitted in the museum galleries.

Our one-of-a-kind shop features ceramics, silk scarves, pine needle baskets and paintings, prints, and notecards by regional Iowa artists.

 

Museum catalogs available for purchase on permanent collection and exhibitions.

 

Art Supplies available in limitied quantities.
