Message from the Blanden,
There is always an air of excitement at the Blanden. We want visitors to come away with a sense that the visual arts and its other arts allies can expand awareness.
This year brings a spectacular range of exhibitions, events and learning opportunities to the community. Innovative, challenging, diverse, and lively are the words, which fit this rich schedule of upcoming events.
Linda Flaherty, Museum Educator, has organized superb classes for children. A variety of two and three dimensional art experiences will be offered that are built around works of art currently on display in the galleries, and practice in recognizing and applying elements and principles of design. Additionally, Open Studio Life Drawing continues February 14th and 28th. Also, for adults we have a special event the week of July 13th, “The Painted Page, Books and Beyond” a workshop in creating handmade books. James Bailey, professor of art at the University of Montana, Missoula, will teach this class.
Pam Kay, Business Office, and Mark Jessen, Security and Maintenance, ensure that each visitor has a relaxing, enjoyable experience at the Blanden through visitor service, safety and facilities maintenance.
Our goal is to get each and every one of you to take advantage of the ways in which the arts can enrich your life. The Blanden is offering new and challenging ways of seeing and experiencing the world around us.
Bring the arts into your life!
